The Solo is for the MS WebTV boxes... I'm pretty sure Cube is not the decoder in the DCT-5000 box.

First of all - MediaOne's initial deployment with the Phillips / Divi / C-Cube STB is going forward - period. Divicom's model will be out there for all to evaluate. You have to believe it will perform well and convince other MSO's (yes, there will be others besides AT&T - remember the RBOC's?) to adopt Divicom's compelling model - no? Second, the new GIC box is "a" box. It will not be "the" box. The entire beauty of "open standard" is that the consumer will eventually be able to go into a "Best Buy" and either pony-up for the most feature-rich box or buy a bar-boned box. But the STB model will be the broadband communications of the future. Consumers will be willing to spend top-dollar for the highest quality monitor and then occasionally "upgrade" their STB.
