Dear Don;

<<Never does Jesus or anyone in scripture say he was "GOD THE SON.>>

I must disagree with the above statement.

Jhn 20:28 And Thomas answered and said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

The Greek word translated as God is theos. AV - God 1320, god 13, godly 3, God-ward + 4214 2, misc 5; 1343

I must also share my knowledge of Jewish thinking. A devout Jewish man, which Thomas must have been, would never use this expression without meaning to worship Yeshua as God.

Of course the Logos of John 1 refers to Yeshua.

Jhn 1:1 IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jhn 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Don could we agree to use a more widly accepted translation than the New World? The translators of this version have not been disclosed or their credentials verified. I suggest once again that we use the New American Standard. I believe that good exegesis of the Greek can be accomplished using this version as our starting point. Can you agree to this or make another suggestion?

Greetings Don, please excuse my intrusion between you and DLL, I'll try and be very brief. Almighty God made a promise to Adam according to Genesis 3:15, that He would redeem Mankind by the promise of sending a Saviour to the earth. This first covenant made with man can be traced throughout the Old Testament with ever increasing visibility of its impending fullfillment, that being realized, by the divine birth of the Lord Jesus Christ nearly 2000 years ago. Only Man can redeem man, therefore God in His Wisdom, became one of us in the person of Jesus Christ. John 1:1, IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD. John 1:14, " AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONGST US.................... . This WORD is God who has taken a physical human body like ours, yet sinless, in order to bring about His marvellous redemption promised to Adam and all Mankind. Your translation , " the New World Translation " used by Jehovah witnesses is fatally flawed as it changes the Holy scriptures to try and deny the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is done in John 1:1, by inserting "a ", and the Word was a God. Don, with respect to you as a person with excellent writing capabilities, I must state that since you have not been " born again ", thus having the Holy Spirit of God dwelling within you, you are spiritually blinded to be able to see the truth in the scriptures of who Jesus really is. You have no problem seeing His humanity but are blinded to seeing that He is also Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ( Isaiah 9:6). May the Lord of Glory grant you to behold the Eternal Son, that you may come to know the Eternal Father. I leave you with my brother in Christ DLL , who is able to declare that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Robert

Don

Of course the prophet Isaiah called Yeshua God.

Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

This great Jewish prophet would not use the title God lightly. This verse clearly speaks of Messiah, referring to Him as Mighty God. Isaiah was also a devout mono-theist who knew that there was only one God.

Isaiah 43:10 You are My witnesses, declares the LORD, And My servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me.

Yeshua was not a God, He is God the Son.
