Precisely the point that I was attempting to make.

Yet Katherine and Scott feel it necessary to argue that it's practically meaningless.

As if they believe that INTC is in the habit of funding R&D at any old company that asks. I suspect that the INTC board of directors has approved this disbursement; and that INTC expects to receive a better return on that money than applying it to any other competing use. ... the same as any other business.

To presume that INTC throws money around just because they can appears somewhat disingenuous, to say the least.

While I don't know Scott, it is not typical of Katherine's standard for posts.
