Nat, Thanks for your reply. Just 5 minutes ago, I found out that Bell Atlantic is buying my local telephone provider, GTE. ba.com Prior to discovery of this great news, I was seriously thinking of having DSL installed by GTE, and then switch to one of the local DSL ISP. Now all I will have to do this summer is having GTE install DSL and switch from AOL dial-up service to AOL DSL service. I already dislike my cable company for overcharging, and underdelivering programmings. Reruns, reruns and reruns. Why would I want to let them control my Internet access ?
