DOJ may have approved BEL/GTE, but individual states involved must as well. To date, Kentucky and Virginia are resisting. In spite of that, Bell Atlantic is predicting closing the deal 4th qtr 99, last I heard.

CIEN can be acquired anytime between 35-40$ range.
CIEN seems to be picking up momentum in getting orders. The next wave of upgrades are starting to materialize and CIEN will definitely benefit.
At this price of 25$, CIEN is somewhat at a discount. All imo.
