What do you think of the move in #2 May5?....up 2 5/8 today on strong volume....might this be a break-out?.....took profits on 2/3 of my position earlier in the week.....wondering whether it looks like a ceiling or a break out to you.

209.238.58.46 Watch List for May 7

In some cases I add some earnings plays to the watch list when they show exceptional technical strength as well as fundamentals. Those I feel have a slightly better chance of being a successful trade, with the synchronization of both fundametals/technicals. QLGC, FOSL and GEEK were added to yesterday's watch list and called on the thread in plenty of time of anyone to get in. For anyone inclined to 'figure out the track record' be my guest. WE don't hide the losers, there aren't that many of them.

The entire April calendar (from which the newsletter is derived) and which includes about 15-20% more plays will be posted as a "sample calendar" this weekend. Nothing is added and nothing is deleted. A few just don't come into play, YBTVA and GVA are two examples of the few that just never 'had it' and never triggered a buy signal. They can't all trigger buy signals so we ignore them.

Once a 'buy signal' is triggered the trade is good until the anticipation wanes, sometimes it 1 day or 2 days or in the case of PWR a full five days. By the way PWR moved its earnings date to May 11, so we may get even more out if it next week. NCOG also moved its day to May 10.

We have the plays posted by Thursday the week before earnings and about 20% of them are already buys by Friday's market lose. By Thursday we have usually 'used out' a good deal of them and are ready for the new plays for the following week, that is how we always have 'fresh' plays 4-9 days before earnings.

A few of them like BBOX, SE, MACR, QLGC, were held through earnings PWR was a buy last thursday and good for 10 points. ERTS, and MAST were both good for pre-earnings anticipation. CI and CSC were good for 2 days and were called for last Thursday/Friday. They all came in very handy this week since it was indeed a tough week.
