traceroute (one word) is a command that you can run from your ISP (in most cases), but you either 1) must have a shell account and issue the command or 2) have it in a windows or dos-based format.

it's of the format:

traceroute www.watley.com

and you can see how slow or quickly each site, from your ISP to watley's, responds. basically, if things get real slow right before the last site (watley.com), it's their problem; if things are universally slow, it's your ISPs, and if things slow at some other point along the loop, it's that site's problem.

How do you run a "trace Route"?

On your computer, go to "Start", then select "Run", then type in the word "command" and click on the "OK" button.

An MS-DOS prompt window will open up. In this window, type "tracert www.abwatley.com" or type "tracert [IP ADDRESS, WHATEVER THAT IS, YOU CAN GET IT FROM WATLEY]"
