CGarcia, your post is very informative. It helps shed some light into this debate. Very helpful input from someone who has experienced both options. I have a technical question for you.

Since I am looking to hook up DSL, I called GTE, my local phone provider this morning, and I was told I would have to obtain the Networking Interface Card (NIC) myself. Being a rookie computer user, I got no idea which card will work for my PC. Can you recommend me a NIC card ? I have a PC 400MHZ 46 MB of ram running Win 98.

Thanks.
