If Bell Atlantic is your local telephone provider, then I will bet that they have DSL available for your area. However, because of the requirement of certain distance from the main hub, your neighbor can get it, it doesn't mean you can get it, too. I was told this morning by my phone company that it's best to ask for a QUALIFIED LOOP TEST to determine whether your line is capable of receiving DSL before signing up the service. This test is free. They'll give me the result in one week. You know, just to be on the safe side. Should you get turned down by your phone company, then contact one of those "third party" such as COVAD (www.covad.com), they might be able to provide the service that phone company can't.
