KG4,

Several indicators are in or below "bottom" range. In the chart below you will see and indicator called William R. A 100 reading on it's scale indicates a bottom and possible turn around. As you can see it normally does not stay in the 100 range long before it jumps up and so does the price of the stock.

The second encouraging thing I see is using another indicator called Rate Of Change, ROC along with Williams R are both early indicators for tops and bottoms. In the chart below the two lines are in negative territory which indicates that AOL is grossly oversold. It verifies what Williams R is telling me. A turn in the price and a new upward trend will occur when the black line crosses over the green line. If you look backwards a few months you can see the last trend was triggered at the same time the last crossover happened.

One of the better buy signals that I like is Stochastics 8-17-9. When black crosses green heading up you can bet the stock will also go up and continue until the opposite happens.

This last link will tell you exactly how to read all these indicators plus several others just in case you would like a better understanding of them.

In a nut shell these indicators will turn first then the price of AOL will follow 1 to 2 days later. I find it a safer bet to buy a stock coming off of a bounce then to try and find the exact bottom because it can't be confirmed really until a bounce has happened. In a perfect TA world this turn should happen easily this coming week.

I see only a small amount of downside potential from where we are today.

I don't see a tremendous amount of momentum built up yet to power us back to $170 but this will come soon enough.

The charts in this post are "live" and will update themselves starting 20 minutes into Mondays open and will update every 90 seconds so if you bookmark this post you can watch the indicators for the upcoming buy signal.

If I have failed to answer you fully please let me know. And remember this is all JMO.
