alan,

True but this is not a patient market we are in. It is a market filled with day traders and those who want instant results. But even from a long term perspective the stock is a sick joke at 5 bucks since it IPO'd in 1994 at 7 bucks and traded in its first year at 7 to 8 bucks. Look at this chart:

finance.yahoo.com

IMO its as if the company gets negative credit for its accomplishments over the past 5 years while in fact things now look better than ever. In 1996 Vivus didn't even have an approved product and we were trading above 20. Now we have a safe and effective product rolling out into a global market and at least several potential block buster products in the R&D pipe line and yet we trade at 5 bucks.

Compare us to ZONA, ICOS, MCHM for ED plays or CEPH or LIPO for small cap biotech plays and tell me where the logic is for a "reasonable" valuation of 5 bucks? IMO if it wasn't for market manipulation and the lies disseminated by the short interest we would have had no business ever trading under 6 or 7 bucks a share.
