Bloomberg TV report mentioned that AOL is in talks with telephone companies to build a national network of DSL lines. Indeed it does cost money to build a nationwide infrastructure. Foe AOL to team up with the regional carriers so early in the game makes a very good business sense. I can now see why AOL promptly backed out of Comcast. I would like AOL concentrate on building a alternative network like DSL instead of a duel for broadband. Now if ATT would want AOL's business and 18 million eyeballs, then they would have to entice AOL with real competitive rates.

So for us longs, AOL has chalked out a very good long term strategy if the Bloomberg report is true. As for me, I am not interested in when AOL stock price turn around. My interest is how soon AOL will split again such that it gets to within the reach of small investors instead of only the fund managers.
