Frank,

I was wondering why you asked about the fab in the other thread. :) By the way, that information is confirmed in the 10K.

I definitely don't think Q is a chip house. If it was, I'd think twice about plunking my money into it.

It was the only thing in the form of a serious, red flag for me too. I guess I've stayed away from "chip stocks" so much that I probably don't know the market's definition of the term.

It does make sense that not having a fab takes the risk out of the stuff relating to the chip because there are no fixed costs for the Q when the chip market becomes temporarily saturated. However, that in itself leads us to the issue of the cyclical nature of all chip businesses.

I don't suppose you want to give us your opinion about the likelihood of CDMA chipsets becoming cyclical further down the road. :)

No, despite their healthy sales of cdma asics, you should not characterize Q as a chip stock. The basic reason is that they are fabless

Uncle, excuse me for trying catch up. Your post is 4 days old, but I have been writing proposals and travelling hard.

I know that you avoid RMBS because you consider it a chip company. But you do not consier Q a chip stock. I am confused about your position here, as RMBS is an IP company--not a manufacturer.
