I can't agree with your thumbnail characterization of the voting populace. Greed seems to
be the gravamen. JLA

Most people live paycheck to paycheck. Greed is much too harsh a term for their
anxiety...

Living paycheck to paycheck is all about choices Neocon. Like all things. Greed and self
gratification. That's about it. JLA

Do not underestimate the trials of ordinary life.People who are merely greedy and self-
gratifying rarely raise families, because building a home takes a certain degree of
discipline.

Oh, I don't know about that. Over the last few years as my practice has expanded and I've
been able to delegate some responsibility to associates, I've become more active in my
son's and daughter's extracurricular activities such as sports, art classes, dance,
gymnastics, etc. (My son is quite artistic and my daughter is a natural athelete.) It never
ceases to amaze me the number of parents who merely drop the kids off and leave. You
learn a lot about your kids by observing them in those types of endeavors. That is a big
part of what raising a family is all about. Taking an interest in your kids insures that they
grow up to be happy and well adjusted. They want more than a taxi service. You can't buy
respect and genuine love and its not the basis for a sound relationship. JLA

You are correct, there are varying levels of involvement, and sometimes the comparative
lack is appalling, but I still think that most people feel the weight of responsibility, and
behave fairly appropriately...
