I'm on TCI in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. The problem we're having here is there's a third party administering the network, and they keep taking it offline to tinker with it. The cable guy told me that it was particularly annoying, because this third party does not inform TCI or @home when they take it off line. Who's running the store here?

I've been using AOL as a backup, and went on the plan where there is hourly charges, thinking I'd rarely have to use it, and ended up paying a bunch to them as well as @home. Oh well, why should @home give a damn? The Internet connection is faster (for now, until there are many more on my node, heard that slows it down), so it's either go dial-in or put up with whatever bad service @Home wants to deliver.
