Bob,

I had a similar experience using 6.5 once. I was doing an exploration and it would always go into a nasty loop. I solved this by eliminated stocks from the scan..until I narrowed it down to one.
(not a fun chore). but once I deleted and redownloaded the data, it
worked fine.

Bob, David J had a slow down on ms searching for stocks, don't know how he fixed it...

you know it could have been all that heavy metal he has laying around for magnets and stuff...>g<

Bob, I started using M6.52 and noticed that my system's resources dropped to almost zero. I added 128 megs of ram, used scandisk and defrag weekly, deleted every file that had the faintest odor of being outdated...nothing helped!

I gave up trying to figure it out. Life's too short. Now, when my resources are low, I just reboot. It seems to do the trick.
