Not really- in Hayward California the CITY has put up a sign that states "No Room For Racism" - I find that at odds with free association and the whole point of America- which should allow racists and everyone else. We can't allow people in government positions to act out their racism- but everyone ought to be able to think racist thoughts or even BE racist in so far as they may choose whom to associate with, work with in the private sector, and live with. I am prejudiced myself (although on a class bases, not on color or religion) and although I examine my prejudice periodically, it generally works out that I am right. Certain classes of people are bound to disappoint me, in conversation, in manners, in everything. Why should I not freely pre-judge that this is the case and spare myself the wasted time of mingling with people I do not wish to know (and they would probably say the same about me- finding me an interminable elitist bore who uses big words and probably is a tree hugger)? Anyway, although I do not believe there is any room for violence (for any reason, let alone racist reasons) I do believe we all have the right to be as prejudiced or racist, or bigoted as we want to be.

Mind you I do not judge here that anyone is superior, merely that some prejudice or "pre-judgment" about where one may find like minded individuals that give one pleasure to associate with is alright by me.

I disagree with you. If you hit someone it's assault. If you hit someone who is black and you are white and have been known to not like blacks it's assault and a hate crime. An added offense. It's illegal to hit anyone, but it's doubly illegal to hit them because you don't like them because they are black. Get my point. If a white guy hits a black guy but it's not racial it's only assault. My statement stands.

<<It's illegal here to not like someone for certain reasons. >>

Also a person will be punished by the PC hierarchy at work if it's known that you don't care for blacks or gays. YOU will be discriminated against, in your job, promotions, assignments and so forth. If the blacks have gained enough power they will discriminate against whites too. Get them moved over or moved out. Tell me it ain't so! If you do then you're out of touch.
