JB, So we accidentally bombed the Chinese Embassy. I wonder if the Serbs are using laser scanners to redirect our laser guided weapons?

Well Barry I can get behind bombing the Chinese since they are our real enemies. I am active in Africa and it would take a list a mile long to list all of the bad things that the banal, evil Chinese Communists have been up to there....

>>the news the Chinese get are pretty much the Serb version<<

China's official version of events in its state-controlled media has been that hegemonic, US-led NATO has been the aggressor in this war, attacking the independent, sovereign people of Serbia.

And the reason China has taken this position is because the Chinese government has long had its own internal policies of ethnic cleansing in places such as Xinjiang, Tibet, and Inner Mongolia. For decades, these regions have suffered as the Chinese government destroyed cultural institutions, forcibly relocated inhabitants and indiscriminately killed dissenters.

The Chinese government is in no way interested in having the Chinese people know the truth - that Serbia is under attack due to its policies of ethnic cleansing - as this is exactly what has been happening in China for a long time, and on a far greater scale.

regards,

JS

JBL,

The memory that other nationalities maintain
vs what the typical American knows is always
amazing to me. The Serbs are still pissed off
about 1389 and your typical American student
cannot even tell you who won World War II. I
work at a University and I was having trouble
understanding why the students are not upset
about this undeclared war in Europe. Then I
realized that they were not even born when the
Viet Nam War made its impact upon the American
psyche. No wonder that they are more concerned
about the next "rave" and not about the fact
that their little butts are about to get drafted
so that they can keep the peace on a street
corner in Pristina.
