Why is it all right for Terrence to use "alright" [a common mispelling] and other people not? Does he insult our sense of propreity intentionally, or from mere negligence or ignorance. Thinking people don't care.

Who says that it is all right? It happens, but it's occurrence does not mean that it is not offensive.
