Yamner is a broker that many shorts love:

Check out their web site (http://www.yamner.com/) or send steve goldman a PM for more info. Steve described a portion of their operations in this link.

exchange2000.com.

Both Yamner & DLJ using Pershing to loan stocks.

If Pershing doesn't have it, Yamner will search for you. Don't think DLJ will (see previous posts about customer service).

Just so you know, Yamner is not an "on-line" broker. I have no experience with them, but it appears from their literature that you actually have to call them to trade, although they have on-line info like quotes (somebody may correct me on this, but that's my understanding).

But they promise to pick up within about 2 rings, and there is NO on-line broker who does that. Their rates are somewhere between online and full service ($35 plus .02 per share for equities), but they seem to be pretty service-oriented from their literature. I'm not doing them justice here, check out yamner.com, and if you have time, read some of their "library" materials, they explain things from a trading desk viewpoint.
