IPO backdoors - immediate one is BKS which can do nothing but go up in the next two weeks IMHO before its May 24th BNBN IPO date which I believe will get repriced higher. I see a 5-10 point appreciation from here even in a weak net market. COuld be more. If BNBN flies and holds, some calculations I've read say that the added value for BKS might equal its current stock price which would mean you get BKS's brick andbusiness for "free". NAVR is another one whicyh I've played for a profit but its fate still seems a little uncertain. (See Backdoor IPO thread for continuing information)

Takeover candidates - hard to ever know for sure or exactly when but CDNW, COMS, PAIR are somewhat in play now. I'm in CDNW and COMS both because there has been some substantiation about takeover talks in the press without denials, and because both are still modestly-priced "value" stocks in their sectors. COMS is an excellent recovery play a la NOVELL last year. Even if not acquired CDNW's 250 mill market cap makes it one of the few modestly-valued big nets.
