The shopping engine starts to look fine

Try it @

inktomi.com

Or one of the distribution partners:

209.185.142.200

I hope they include product bar codes in the database, so in a next phase they can introduce an application for business to business delivery. Tesco in the UK uses a central database to show suppliers their sales and stock per store. Suppliers define the deliveries themselves. The order process has been replaced by a web database.

Key is a central product database, with bar codes as ID. The shopping engine is focused on descriptions. If Inktomi makes it a complete database, B2B e-commerce will be the next step. Holding the global product database will turn Inktomi in a real Gorilla.
