see you in September

rosemary,
what a great song title!!!

i saw that intel chart the other day and i agree with your interpretation. i just recall that when intel announced the delay in feb, some intel official said they do not expect to need all of the time. i also agree with the viewpoint expressed by others here recently that intel will not stand by if amd beats them to the market with rdram. those are two reasons to be optimistic about an earlier announcement. in the overall scheme of the universe it really doesn't matter. as i've said before, in 2002-2003 we will be chuckling about these discussions. (if we can recall them).

The Platform Planning Runways are complementary tools to the Processor Roadmaps that you can use with customers to help determine which platform has the longest, most stable life. The horizontal bars indicate Intel's projection of platform availability in the channel, and do not necessarily indicate dates of product introduction or end of life. These runways are to be used as guidance only—all products and dates are subject to change.

Remember, these are all "estimates"- The Sept date may happen, it may not. I have heard nothing from INTC that it is or is not happening. Notice on the the barchart, the bar above the RDRAM info said "Stable Platform"-- Interesting!?

Yes, I am back spreading more FUD!! <gg> That is not really my intention, just believe that their are many questions to be answered, that's all....

Happy Mothers Day!!

Rosemary: I saw the Intel schedule last Friday...do you know when it was first posted on their web site...curious to know if you know when it first appeared to see whether the info has been reflect in stock tick up last week or if it's new info ....also, do you read that Rambus being included on the Brocade Fibre Channel Switch to be significant...sounds to me like they are already going beyond PC/Server chip to chip solutions...and that a whole new incremental revenue stream is beginning to appear...
