Paul, good post. What conclusions can be drawn?? Well before I start remember I was a skeptic @ 40 before it ran to 1000, and as a business model still am. These days I just prefer to talk about its pre-split $800ps stock price.
Conclusions?? I think that Wall Street had bet that only a Gorilla will survive, and in Internet retail terms Amzn's the Gorilla.
Moving on, I met my lovely sister today for lunch (Its her birthday).
We met @ a mall (I hate malls). It was packed. I couldn't figure out why it was so crowded, when all these thousands could be buying over the Internet. Even the B&N store was packed.
I think in 100 years our planet will be so crowded that every one will buy from their home. In Seattle they're even having groceries delivered to their homes, so I guess that's just the future.
Am I going to pay $800 ps share for a stock that in 100 years from now, might make a profit?? I think not. I prefer to buy stocks that are currently making a profit. Most of the time.
Ps
Now I do buy stocks that made money, and now are loosing it.
It's called recovery. When Amzn makes a profit, I might go long with it. But not before. I won't buy a stock that can't appear to ever make a profit.
