Injury front: 49er Garrison Hearst's ankle bone is dying slowly due to insufficient blood supply. His career might be over. On the other hand . . . Falcon Bob Christian's knee was not as bad as thought. When the docs opened it up, they found they didn't have to do reconstructive surgery. Byron Hanspard is much farther along than expected, may be ready for full contact when training camp opens. 3 weeks to training camp, and I'm already talking football. Talking trash, no less. Time to get a life . . . Tom
