The problem with the numbers is that they are only put together once a month. The 12M short position was actually as of the 4/12/99 trade date, with settlement on 4/15/99. AMZN was on the second day of a dip at that time. Can we assume that a return to that price level, approx 160-170 equals a 12M short position? That's about the best we can do. I bet we're in the 15M short area, but its a WAG. No new short numbers for several weeks. The viwes chart showes the 12 month low. My belief is we've got a short interest great enough to get us up to $180 to $190 or 12 DMA or something along those lines.
