The Ravlin 7100 represents a new architecture that is a step-up in throughput and extensibility, developed for corporations requiring Fast Ethernet speed, connectivity and support for a large number of site-to-site and remote access connection. With the addition of Fast Ethernet connectivity, the 7100 will provide network administrators with secure traffic flow at faster encryption and decryption speeds. The Ravlin 7100 provides full IP Security Standard (IPSec) VPN capability, and with an estimated street price of $7,500 will deliver the best price/performance for high-speed network security products on the market.

Ravlin's basic design coupled with an innovative suite of installation utilities, delivers simple installation and configuration of RedCreek's complete family of VPN products. The Ravlin 7100 in conjunction with other Ravlin products was designed to offer a range of performance options to match the growing amount of traffic that VPNs must handle. Built on dedicated hardware, the Ravlin 7100 operates transparently to the user and is easily integrated into existing networks and is fully compatible with all Ravlin products with regard to IPSec, management and client interface. Designed for high-performance gateway applications, the Ravlin 7100 supports DES encryption at 44 Mbps and Triple DES encryption at 22.5Mbps
Ease-of-Use
The Ravlin 7100 integrates easily into existing networks through 10/100BaseT auto sensing ports. As a hardware based VPN solution, it offers superior performance and security, as well as being software application independent. Network administrators use the 7100 to establish private communications within secure intranets or within secure extranets. The Ravlin 7100 was designed for versatility. It supports hub-to-spoke and mesh topologies within the same network.
This also enables client-to-box and box-to-box encryption. RedCreek's hardware and software-independent design enables the Ravlin 7100 and other RedCreek VPN solutions to be placed at any point on the network and in any combinations that are required. Network managers also have easy device management through industry standard SNMP MIB II.
Industry Standards
The Ravlin 7100 firmware contains all components of the IETF and IPSec for enhanced network security. IPSec is the most secure and comprehensive standard available today for encryption, authentication, key management, and anti-replay services.
The Ravlin 7100, also provides data privacy using industry standard 56-bit DES AND 168-bit Triple DES encryption. It provides authentication and access control with Digital Signature Standard (DSS), Diffie-Hellman key exchange, X.509 v.3 digital certificates and Internet Key Exchange (IKE) key management.
Availability and First Public Demonstration
The Ravlin 7100 will be available in June, through RedCreek's reseller channel. It will have its first public demonstration at Networld+Interop, Las Vegas, NV, May 11-13, South Hall, Booth #6083.
