I've found this to be true to some degree outside of technology. Of course they must pass some very strict valuation criteria before I will make a purchase. But some of the truly great companies got that way because of some of the intangible qualities and advantages they possess. And those qualities tend to show up from time to time when you least expect it and just about when you were considering a sale. I'm not a tech investor, but if anything it seems that it works the other way around for them. The leaders of today are the laggards of tomorrow.
