Kosova - Serbia - NATO is full of irony

first, the USA didnt act in Rwanda because the victims were all black... USA acted in Mogadishu in Somalia when USA students were threatened and warlords seized our aid... USA did not react to deaths in Cambodia by Pol Pot (millions)... Pol Pot is in Hitler's league... Milosevic is not in Hitler's or Stalin's league, but given a chance he might

first mistake: Clinton says "no ground troops"... which I interpret as "no planned deaths"... yes, Clinton is the NATO figurehead... but we are the greatest among equals... NATO leaders have always been hardpressed to stand against the USA... we fund something like 50-60%

we didnt send ground troops because the Serbs are expert guerilla fighters... they staved off 250,000 Nazi troops, staved off similar number of Stalin Red Army troops after WW2... beautiful but treacherous mountains surround Serbia on the southern border, with narrow mountain passes for perfect ambush... ideal terrain for guerilla warfare tactics... USArmy troops would get bogged down in Serbia just like VietNam's jungles, maybe not as many bodybags

the irony:
Serbs are Christians (lately non-practicing)
Serbs are killing Moslems (now we protect Moslems?)
white Europeans are the victims, so US acts (predictably white)
Serbia is supplied weapons & munitions from Iraq (Moslem country)
Russia intercedes as negotiators, despite near identical Chechnya

this is a bad movie with no clear exit strategy
