Rand understood Kant backwards and forwards. Balderdash! Both she and Peikoff confused Kant's definition of synthetic propositions with the Logical Positivist interpretation that all synthetic propositions are contingent. Since Kant himself would not accept such a trivialization of his theory for a minute--he would even regard it as a misunderstanding of Hume--Rand and Peikoff cannot even begin to address the substance of the issues that Kant considers. One does not have to agree with the direction of a philosopher to recognize that the issues are worthy of consideration.
