Mani - < I have no idea where you got this from Tad's comments.
He likes AMD because considering the fundamentals it represents a good investment value at the current level. I know I just made a "no daa" statement, but it is really this simple.>

Exactly. I don't consider AMD's prospect's a shoe-in, when I consider what possible avenues Intel may take to respond. Witness the K6. That did wonders for AMD's valuation. Of course AMD has a more attractive risk/reward scenario, based on simple models. I guess I find the models presented lacking in what Intel can do to respond that may result in AMD facing severe problems. Also, I can not brush off management concerns like Tad. To me, management virtually is the company. I also have severe concerns with AMD's technical and manufacturing infrastructure, fundamentals that I feel Tad basically ignores.

<As he said, "But all of the fundamental analysis means nothing until it's tied into the valuation exercise." This is what most Intel fans on this board don't seem to consider.>

I believe Intel is currently selling at a discount, and is well on it's way to being a $50B / year, somewhat more diversified company. As an example, AMD once had a viable Networking product division. Intel has recently blown AMD away in this space, and now targets 30% year over year growth in this market. This goes to the resources and management of the subject companies.
