Tim: You are certainly correct...Motorola will want more equity to back up any additional funding. There is the prospect that others will want to do the same in order to have more control...Motorola will have to increase her funding to limit any slippage in "ownership". The question is...how much must she commit without affecting other areas of corporate investments. This will be a critical decision and one that I am sure they are looking at...very carefully. Presently Iridium has ligigation issues "up the gazoo" and this certainly could affect their marketing strategy relative to other competitors coming onto the sector. Motorola has to come up with a phone far more operational than the present one...this is going to take a considerable amount of re-engineering and this may place them in an awkward position for awhile...price(s) have to drop significantly also to increase quota targets! I expect to see a "tiger team" to address these issues and a very aggressive program to reach their objective(s). First priority is assignment of a strong management team and then an announcement to future strategy. Motorola's reputation as a "Prime Contractor" is on the line and they must act quickly and decisively or face the consequence(s).
