Chuzz, I suspect that CPQ's Rosen would agree that GTW would be a good acquisition and solve the problem of transition to direct from channel. It's funny that I see it as a sure way of Dell killing two birds with one stone, one wounded already and the other a true competitor (GTW). This move would create one more troublesome basket of issues and personalities to an already unwieldy organization chimera.

Chuzz, thanks for the reply, after re-reading my post and your comments I have to admit to being a tad optimistic regarding GTW being accretive, though I still think it's possible. A pre-emptive strike on GTW however does seem also an attractive defensive move while gaining instant market share in the consumer sector. Regards and aloha.

chuz:<cpq acquiring gtw> let them acquire it. GTW absolutely no threat to dell long term; dell's issues are elsewhere. Dell needs to NOT do any acquisitions. (p.s. I hope your wife is doing well.)
