''The tension triggered by the embassy bombing has sparked
widespread worries over China's foreign trade, foreign investment
and its possible entry into the WTO (World Trade
Organisation),'' said a local broker.

China and the United States have vowed to complete negotiations on the WTO by the end of this
year, but brokers said new tension in the relationship could hurt progress.

Chinese leaders have condemned the United States for the incident and students have also taken to
the streets to protest.

Brokers said the A and B share markets could fall further later on Monday.
