Tad - <The task of growing sales of this behemoth at 20% is probably unparalleled. I'm not down on Intel and certainly not on its management, I just feel that the task is so overwhelmingly difficult that it is inappropriate to assume that it can be accomplished.>

This goes to my question on Intel's ability to enter new markets and diversify, and specifically, the networking and communications silicon business. It is my belief that Intel can parlay its manufacturing and process technology into other market segments besides the traditional MPU business. And with regard to the traditional core business, I believe Intel has a great opportunity to continue to make inroads at the higher end with IA32 and in the not too distant future, the IA64 line. As for AMD, I personally give more weight to technical and manufacturing issues that I believe are readily apparent in AMD's operation that make the valuation model inadequate and over-simplified, and very well preclude AMD from competing effectively against Intel.

Anyway, I am now running short of time at the moment. Thanks for your detailed responses. This has been fun.

PS: I hope I am doing better with the apostrophes :-))
