On my computer workstation is a vase of flowers, stargazer lilies, roses, irises, snapdragons, and babies breath. And a couple of very nice cards.

Let's see now...No cards.

But on the little table by the front door there stand the obligatory dozen red roses. On the coffee table, some white carnations, and on the piano -- daisies. In the dining area picture window that looks out on the back lawn, some beautiful purplish-blue wildflowers have been wedged in among the regular house plants. And, best of all, on the dining room table a magnificent bouquet of many-petalled wheel-shaped yellow-centered white flowers. What are they? Mums? You see them in the Giant stores, wearing tight little hairnets. When you remove the hairnets, these magnificent flower-head open up unexpectedly...And once cut. the flowers last for three full weeks (unlike the roses, which begin wilting - from shock? - the minute they are plucked).

How is that for a one-day haul?

But it didn't even occur to me to put any flowers on my computer workstation. Thank you for the idea! It's about time I started aestheticizing my rather grubby work environment. Yes! Let's mix business and pleasure! Yes!
