I am totally confused after an hour of reading the DELL thread tonight.
DELL will do well...wont do well...pc industry is flat...pc industry is fine...good earnings will propel DELL higher...good earnings wont matter because interest rates might be going up.
YIKES!!!!!

re: Since enterprise software is a boom and bust 8-year cycle purchase, hardware provides a way to even out the revenues a little.

It's a good comment, that's what MSFT see, that's why they are pushing NT 2000 out the door, and that's why DELL will have to move up the gravy chain to move forward, and that's why CPQ bought Tandy and DEC.

I didn't realize there was an 8 year cycle, I bet that changes, now that economy has change and IBM is no longer the main company servicing this sector. hmmm What caused that 8 year cycle? I need to know that.
