Spytrader--I agree, what ETrade has done in a relatively short period of time is unbelievable. And you're right about how it is increasingly mentioned alongside Merrill Lynch, et al, which is SO important to the growth of the company, as every mention (which is free) drives home to the consumer that this is a credible company, and (perhaps more important) one which is a brand that is increasingly popular (vital to status-conscious consumers). I was talking to a friend of mine at a party yesterday, who was telling me about how pleased he was that his stock portfolio increased by 37% last year. I had a hard time holding myself back (midwestern reserve...) from mentioning that my investment in ETrade has gone up something like 800% since December 1....
