Hey Gustave,

Thanks for "piping" me aboard!!

My comments about the embassy bombing not being an accident is solely the ramblings of a man looking for a reason for such a stupid error as targeting a well-know diplomatic mission located in a residential area.

I would really hate to think that someone was deliberately playing such a dangerous game of brinksmanship by deliberately targeting that building. Either way, it was VERY STUPID.

So now we have the Chinese populace finding an outlet for their dis-satisfaction over their economic woes, while taking some of the pressure on their gov't for their domestic problems. But the Chinese are playing a dangerous game as well and this could be an situation that mushrooms beyond their control as crowds, once gathered, oftentimes find additional reasons to gripe about. And if these "things" focus upon China's internal problems, joblessness,... etc, they may find their permissive attitude towards mass demonstrations back-firing on them.

Watch Indonesia. Things are cranking up there with unrest rumoured to be coming to a head. China has interests there (probably through the Lippo Group connecton.. :0), and may find themselves using the current situation to continue to spook US policy-makers afraid of a confrontation with the Red Giant.

But we must not forget that having a huge army is far different from being able to deploy and supply that army. China is primarily a land based threat.

Regards,

Ron
