Yaacov, Heh-heh -you and I are thinking alike. The US Embassy in Beijing is just bricks and stone- so long as noone is hurt, it can be rebuilt.

Might China actually accidentally touch off the freedom movement again by allowing these demonstrations? I'm watching closely. Also I'm not sure if the Chinese are just looking for a few concessions from us over the incident or are out to embarass us and weaken us militarily and diplomatically. Time will tell. They have a lot to hide from currently in US/Chinese Relations- smuggling automatic weapons to gangs in US, illegal immigration of Chinese Nationals into US, supplying nuclear technology to Pakistan, Spying on US Nuclear Program, contributing to destabilization in East Africa, etc...

So I can see a lot of areas from which they'd like to divert attention......

Also IMO Kosovo should have been handled like Panama in 1989- lots of ground forces and special forces in fast, gain control, and then withdraw....
