Thoughts on Applied Theory (ATHY)? They appear to be a diamond in the rough considering their rather lackluster IPO debut. $23M in sales and losses that aren't too exorbitant.

Who are they most akin to in the marketplace? VRIO, EXDS or ABOV?

The only problem I see is that they are too regionally dependent on the New York state community, but they are addressing that issue.

Per IPO Central.
Long-distance carrier IXC owns about 28% of AppliedTheory, and
Grumman Hill Investments another 14%. IXC is building a coast-to-coast
network, over which AppliedTheory will reach Internet customers outside New York.

Thanks.

GG

applied theory - sales are strong but more than half comes from two customers, which i take as sign of over-exposure to risk in that area if one of the clients moves on

also, applied's strategy relies much on ixc's gemini2000 network buildout which hasn't been built out

applied has elements of verio, exodus and abovenet in it and lists all of them as rivals
