No plans to evacuate U.S. embassy in China

<< U.S. Ambassador to China James Sasser said on Monday there were no plans to evacuate the U.S. embassy in Beijing, which has been surrounded by rock-pelting protesters angry over NATO's bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

''We were preparing to evacuate yesterday, in fact we began our procedure of destroying some of our more sensitive materials here. But now I think the situation has stabilised so far,'' Sasser said in a telephone interview with ABC television's ''Good Morning America.'' >>
