Russett's tirade continues. Canada is quickly losing it's diamond luster. As far as running for office, there is already enough bullshit there, no need to add mine . As far as BS walking,..sorry, it's on all our faces,...we support it with our taxes. Re F**K Canada. I retract those statements and offer an apology. It was two months of struggling with taxes, and paper work caused by government, and a few beers talking. Sorry. As far as getting kidnapped in Brazil,...I should remind you that a couple of Canadians tried that and got thrown in jail for life. Crime in Brazil does not pay,...unless you are a sleezy politician,...and even that is a jail offence now. Brazil is no worse,..or any better in terms of crime and corruption as most North American communities. One should point out that prior to the 1930's Brazil was a top performing world economy,..and is the biggest South American economy by far in present day. Prior to early 1900's, Brazil was the largest producer of diamonds in the world. The diamonds are there. A rich history of alluvial diamond operations abounds through many areas in Brazil. The hard rock sources of those diamonds have never been mined. DeBeers has a significant presence in the area close to the Canabrava /Suf area. DeBeer's Canastra diamondiferous kimberlite pipe, is said to be very diamondiferous, and is on track to become Brazil's first pipe to support a mine. This is very close to the Canabrava/Suf JV. Canabrava/Teck JV operation scoped out over one hundred potential diamond bearing rock occurrences and drilled many targets. Teck had/has money problems and had to downsize. The Brazil Canabrava diamond project was one of the cuts. They lacked the expertise to properly explore for diamonds. Suf does not have that problem. Many of the Teck drill cores have never been analyzed. Suf will now examine those drill cores, and geophysical and geochemical data. Rivers in the area of these hard rock diamond bearing occurrences have supported many alluvial diamonds works in the past. None of these river areas have had modern diamond mining techniques performed on them. Not only is Suf looking for economic pipes,..but they have the right to mine the alluvial deposits too. Suf is now the operator of this project as well. Pipes are one thing,...but many rich alluvial mines have hard rock sources that are uneconomic. The action of river water concentrated the diamonds. This has not happened in the NWT,..at least I have not heard of it happening anywhere in Canada. It has happened over extensive areas of Brazil. Brazil is welcoming foreign development of their resources. Permits for exploration and mining have stringent environmental conditions attached, but are not withheld for years while everybody and their brothers and sisters look for "benefits". The inhabitants in these areas welcome work because most are very poor. As I said,..time will tell,...let's discuss this in a year. russet, the tirade continues. PS. My tax form has been processed in Ottawa for 25 years. Guess where it's going this year. Shawinigan,Quebec,...home of the Canoe Museum, and coincidentally, Jean Chretien,..our illustrious Prime Ministers home riding. Don't tell me bribes aren't alive and well in Canada. I will stop here, I sense a need for many amens coming GG. cause if I continue you will have to post again to keep me in line.
