Only a general suspicion of any rumor posted on yahoo. :-) There isn't a way to look up that guy's previous posts like we can do here, but I recall that earlier MU rumors on yahoo didn't pan out.

This must be a project they were going to use on the original .18 device. Was supposed to start shipping last August and more-or-less has been dropped, for now. Good reason to think this is the group working on it has shrunk by more than 1/2. Remember the Rendition EMBEDDED DRAM? It was another miracle design. That date for taping out for the masks was 5/15/98 with full scale production in June of the same year. They now have extended the tape out to October of 99 almost 1.5 years late. They are working on a test chip, which done right would help resolve some issues they are having right now. Two of the people working on it are very good; a little ray of sunshine. Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed the "thinner" part (g).
