The situation is complicated. One saving grace for ATHM if AOL and T do hook up might be that T might charge AOL more for the lines than it charges ATHM. However, I have also read on this thread that there are major technical difficulties to leasing parts of cable lines (to AOL). AOL's best hopes are that Congress disallows the merger IMO.
