Rubric: Interesting product, good backing, good marketing, untested exec management. Don't know big the market is, or will be. It's a good story but I'm a little uneasy about EMA as a stand-alone segment.

They are a MRM company. Vantive has no products like Rubric's. In fact Vantive and Rubric are trying to partner on some deals that I know of. They are still private and will be probably bought long before they go public. They are a very complimentary product to the ERM companies of the world and I would not be surprised if Siebel bought them. They were in discussions with Siebel about forming a marketing alliance but Tom nixed the deal. I think he wants the whole ball of wax. Remember Scopus and Siebel danced a little before Siebel finally decided buy Scopus out right.

Anyone ever heard of [Rubric?]

Yes, it is one of the leading EMA companies. If I remember correctly, Geof Moore (principle author of Gorilla Game and a principal in the Chasm Group) is on Rubric's board.

Not my biz, but how do they compare to MarketFirst?

Isn't VNTV behind in this mkt bigtime?

But, in the Engrg. world this Market-Oriented SW has serious skeptics, from those that I talk too! (But that doesn't surprise me , in my little world where the slightest bit of automation raws an outcry.
