Valueman,

I can only guess about what Loral and Liberty, etc. will do, but Bernie is not getting any younger, and I do believe he will want to leave his legacy in capable hands. Armstrong looks to be capable, and it is easy to argue that T (or one of its various subsidiaries and alliances) could make good use of the LOR assets.

My guess, however, is that it won't happen all that soon. Bernie, while no Spring chicken, from all appearances still has a few springs in his step. Also, my experience is that companies about to be acquired or merged or taken over usually have a lot of inexplicable upward stock movement shortly before the event is announced (without insinuating insider trading ;-) and Loral's stock price has not gone very much of anywhere.

I'd start to worry if LOR suddenly, inexplicably hit 25 or 30.

I don't think we would be having this conversation if last summer Zenit had not crashed into the Siberian wilderness with 12 GlobalStar satellites. (I know LOR is much more than G*, but I think that is the biggest drag.)
