>>>do you really think people will choose to pay their bills thru their portal rather than their bank?

Yes, but in addition you need to think outside the box. You will see a three way relationship, Portal/Bank/CheckFree. Yahoo is but another street corner on which a bank can hang its sign.

>>>banks who now offer e-bill thru CKFR are only with CKFR because they are the only player at the moment.

True, and why is that? CheckFree as been around for 20 years, many challengers have come and gone.

>>>it would be short-sighted for any bank to only use CKFR. thats why BOA is setting up their own site.

Your assuming BoA will be successful, a very big assumption. Fact: BoA is having trouble signing up billers for their service, why do you think this is?

It has taken TransPoint 3 years to get 4 billers on-line, why do you think BoA will be able to do what Microsoft is having extreme difficulty doing? Will it take BoA three years?

Why do you think Wells-Fargo scrapped their in-house system and outsourced to CheckFree?

You are missing a very big point...."pay-anyone".
