Larry,

A quick call to LCAV investor relations confirmed that the John H. Gutfreund on the Board indeed was the former Chairman of Saloman Bros. He was the subject of a good book a number of years ago about the bond market. This guy was a real power house.

Larry,

I just recalled a book I read a number of years ago on Saloman Bros. so I did a search on Amazon for Gutfreund. The book I read was

"Liar's Poker: Rising Through the Wreckage on Wall Street"

It documented what was going on there and why Gutfreund is no longer there.

Another book came up in the search,

"Nightmare on Wall Street: Salomon Brothers and the Corruption of the Marketplace "

I'm sure Gutfreund is great with regard to his contacts and his acumen for making money. Would not look to him for guidance in ethics, IMO. But there is no doubt this guy is a powerhouse.

Gutfreund was a "Powerhouse" alright and has oodles of money, so much in fact that our two-bit LCAV is not likely on his horizon. It's not even cigar money to him, the LCAV that he owns. He must have a reason to be on the board. Maybe Jaffe is his Ophtho or some such connection. Maybe his mother is from Cincinnati, whatever. I thought otherwise initially, but basically, I don't think he is a factor. Small change.
