Off topic: Folks, I just want to advise you all to never have a vehicular accident in downtown Washington, DC. I just witnessed the most incredible act of lethargic negligence in my entire life. Seems there was one of these open window tour buses which ran into the back end of a parked car. It started a very small fire around the radiator/engine block and was still rather small when I came across the scene. So I go around asking if anyone had a fire extinquisher so we could keep this thing from spreading and getting out of hand. I asked the driver of an armored car if he had one. He indicated no (strange as that would sound). I ask some onlookers from the neighboring office building if they had access to an extinquisher. They all indicated no. A fire truck had pulled up on the scene and firemen were throwing on their coats and suits, one of them started walking around the vehicle and I noted that distinct lack of a portable extinquisher on his person. He and his partners piddled around for two minutes just gawking at the vehicle and wondering what to do. So after about 4 minutes of asking and getting tired of the crowded "herd" standing idly by, and the firemen still trying to get their hoses connected and employed, this small and relatively contained fire suddenly took off and within 1 minute the entire bus was engulfed in flames. After one minute of watching the flames completely destroy this vehicle and a huge black pillar of billowing black smoke rising into the air; the crowd warily backing up with the realization that this thing may actually blow up; our dedicated and highly trained DC firemen finally get their hoses operational and commence trying to quench the inferno. This just happened 10 minutes ago, and as I sit here typing away at the local Star Power office (I'm using their internet access to check up on youse guys.. :0), I can still hear the sirens and smell the acrid black smoke. Oh, and by the way, as I was walking away from the scene (checking out the latest quote on MUCP being far more important than observing our taxpayers dollars "at work".. :0), I overheard someone mention that the accident had actually occurred 15 minutes before I had arrived on the scene. I love our nation's capital. Regards, Ron
